Peter discovers that Lois's dad Carter is having an affair and is forced to keep the dalliance a secret, but causes embarrassment by accidentally revealing the truth. In the aftermath, Lois's mother demands a divorce and Peter finds himself helping Carter adjust to life as a bachelor.
